POS Strategies Explained!

Your point of sales strategy should be an important focus for any marketing plan because consumers tend to make purchasing decisions on high-margin products or services at these strategic locations. Studies have shown that shelf wobblers alone have been known to boost sales up to 33%. Here are some different POS strategies you can use.

Shelf Talkers

Shelf talkers are tags or signs that hang off aisle shelves and promote your product. They’re useful for a lot of reasons, including:

  • Catching the customer’s attention
  • Making your brand stand out within the aisle
  • Advertise promotions
  • Product education

Shelf talkers and wobblers are a cheap and an easy way to guide customers to your product in the aisle.

Free Standing Displays

Free standing displays or cartons are great for flexibility regarding your product’s location within the store, and are also really easy to implement. They also allow for you to get creative and experiment with some attention-grabbing shapes or designs, such as making a giant version of your product.

End Caps

End caps are displays that are placed at the end of an aisle. End caps allow you to place your product in strategic areas without needing aisle shelf space. They also give you a prime location to attract a lot of eyes as it allows shoppers to see your display without even going down the aisle.

Floor Graphics

Floor graphics are a very unique way to draw shoppers’ attention to your product as they go down the aisle. They should be placed on an area in front of the shelf where your brand is stocked, so that customers can find your products easily after becoming intrigued by your display. Alternatively, you can use floor graphics as a trail that customers can follow to your shelved products.

Dump Bins

Dump bins are usually used for small products that customers may want to grab a few of. They’re most common with candy bars or food accessories, in that they’re useful for stocking and selling large quantities. What makes dump bins great is that they are free standing, and can be strategically placed to be seen or interacted with from all angles. They are also a great opportunity to project your brand’s image on a large surface, and get creative with how you do it.
